Instagram post 17864887114538507 I’ve been realizing the best thing I can do for myself is to take action, however small, in the direction I want my life to go in. If you want to save your own life, now is the time. Send out that ONE email that’s been on your mind for so long, ask for that raise or for those benefits you believe you deserve, bring your bag of unwanted clothes to Goodwill so you can finally clear up your space.⁣

⁣Are you feeling any bit of despair today? Despair may actually be a blessing in disguise, because it’s a sign telling you that now is the time to take action.⁣

Instagram post 17995954312300702 The depression struggle is so real these days and it’s hard seeing beautiful people so much younger than me having much greater accomplishments. The super self disciplined type A kind of people. Sometimes it’s hard not to compare myself to those perfect people. But when I read things like this quote I’m encouraged, because living with depression AND accomplishing the smaller things I’ve done is like running a marathon wearing clothes with weights in them. It doesn’t look like much outwardly but there’s an unseen resilience that continues to prove itself with time. I still don’t know how other people do it, how they have it all together a decade before I do, but I wonder what their lives would look like if they had to also carry the weight of depression.. anyway I don’t want to discount anyone’s achievements but I do want to let those who have suffered from depression (not just sadness) know that you’ve accomplished more in life than you know or think, and you as well as others have given you way too little credit because others don’t see or feel the weight you’re carrying. Hope you can remember that. Remember that you’re doing fine. #depressionisreal
